The Elgin Theatre Company begins its 2018-2019 season with its production of An Elgin Old Tyme Holiday Radio Show 2.

Bring the family to enjoy Elgin radio shows as they really were. ETC will present three different classic radio programs:

  • Jack Benny Buys Don Shoelaces for Christmas - Jack Benny in his normal stingy focus on things goes Christmas shopping with Mary and further shows the world how he can hardly ever even make a decision on what to buy when offered more than one choice in any situation.¬†This will¬†have you rolling in the aisles.

  • Our Miss Brooks - A Letter to Sandy Clawsss - Miss Brooks was delightful in weaving her way thru the various personalities in her life without making enemies of any of them. She has humerous bits with her landlady, Mrs. Davis, her school principal, Mr. Conklin, her part time beau and fellow teacher, Mr. Boynton and all the other characters that made this show the success it was. Again, great belly laughs here.

  • Father Knows Best Christmas 1953 - Father Knows Best is one of the classic shows that provides us with a full circle view of family life in the 1950's in the then new modern America. This particular episode deals with Father showing his family what the real meaning of Christmas is. You will enjoy this heartwarming story from the beginning to the very end.

A bit of nostalgic radio revisited for the holidays.
